July 25, 2016 - Fast 8 Features Pro-Touring C2 Corvette Sting Ray With Fat Tires
“ | For the upcoming Fast 8, Letty gets some time behind the wheel of a 1966 Corvette with pro-touring cues. Photographs posted on Instagram show us that Dom’s girlfriend is going to jump on the Corvette bandwagon.
Painted in period Rally Red, the C2 Corvette Sting Ray in the photo gallery to your right is garnished with pro-touring aesthetic elements, modern brakes and wheels, and look like 315-section tires. Provided that the color is original, the 1966 Corvette is one of only 3,366 painted Rally Red that model year. There are no badges on the front fenders to suggest that this is a fuel injected C2 Corvette, which means that the old-school brute was originally equipped with Holley carburetors. All in all, the V8-powered blast from the past is only fitting for Michelle Rodriguez, more so if you consider that the American actress had pushed the Jaguar F-Type SVR to 201 mph (323 km/h). | ” |
July 29, 2016 - ‘Fast and Furious 8’: The Rock Takes Action in New Behind-the-Scenes Videos (Instagram Videos)
“ | With F. Gary Gray’s Fast and Furious film in production, star Dwayne Johnson, a.k.a. The Rock, a.k.a. Hobbs, has been sharing a lot of behind-the-scenes looks over social media. Personally, I’d much rather see these in-progress videos rather than an endless stream of over-produced marketing material (which will certainly still be coming closer to the film’s early 2017 release date). There aren’t a whole lot of clues as to where in the movie this takes place or how it adds to the plot; it’s just fun to watch Johnson dive away from explosions all day long.
Go behind the scenes with The Rock in these sneak peeks at Fast and Furious 8, and keep an eye on his Instagram for more | ” |
August 2, 2016 Vin Diesel's 'Fast 8' Car Has a Jet Engine. Seriously. (Update)
“ | Update: We originally wrote that Vin Diesel’s Fast 8 car would boast a jet engine. However, we didn’t intend to imply that the vehicle he’d be driving in the film would feature an actual, operational aircraft turbine. To be clear: the jet engine featured in the pictures below is fake. It is a cosmetic prop, and not the real thing. We apologize for any confusion.
Original Post: Vin Diesel has driven many fantastic vehicles over the course of the Fast and Furious franchise’s seven installments (he’s appeared in all but one of them) — and he’s even jumped one of them from one skyscraper into another. But for next summer’s Fast 8, he’s going to up the ante by taking the wheel of a ride that’s jet-powered. Literally. | ” |
August 2, 2016 Scott Eastwood Pays Tribute to Paul Walker, Is "Honored" to Be Part of Fast 8
“ | Sounds like Scott Eastwood is looking forward to his upcoming film, Fast 8. On the red carpet at the Suicide Squad premiere in New York City, the actor talked to E! News' Marc Malkin about how much it means for him to be a part of the Fast and the Furious family and how he's looking forward to honoring Paul Walker's legacy.
"Paul was one of my best friends and to add to his story, to be a part of his family and all the great people and cast that are there, it's like a dream come true," Eastwood said. His kind words echoed a moving statement he posted on Instagram back in April about how Walker's death in 2013 affected him on a personal level. | ” |
