Rob Cohen (born Robert Cohen) is an American director and producer. He was the director of The Fast and the Furious.


As a producer, Cohen's notable works in the film industry include the film adaptation of The Witches of Eastwick, The Serpent and the Rainbow and the 1987 film The Running Man.

As a director, Cohen is primarily known for his film Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story, Dragonheart, Daylight and the 2001 film, The Fast and the Furious. Cohen developed the story for The Fast and the Furious with screenwirters, David Ayer, Gary Scott Thompson and Erik Berguist after reading the May 1998 issue of Vibe Magazine that covered the lifestyle of street racers.[1] Following The Fast and the Furious, Cohen collaborated with actor Vin Diesel for the films XxX in 2002.
