As Dom pays tribute to Han at his funeral, he notices a sedan moving slowly and silently through the cemetery observing him, realizing that this could in fact be Han's killer, Dom makes a break for his Plymouth Road Runner and chases the Maserati through the streets of L.A ., almost losing him in the process. Dom follows the Maserati all the way to an underground parking garage. Shaw challenges Dom by revving his engine and Dom accepts, both cars engage in a game of chicken, and due to neither of them backing down, they collide head on and both cars are destroyed. Dom makes a comment about how Shaw reinforced his chassis giving him the upper hand. Afterwards, it is presumed that both cars were impounded and destroyed.

The Ghibli is painted in a metallic silver color. The rims are multi-spoked and black, and the windows are tinted as well. As shown when Shaw and Dom collided head-on, the car has a reinforced chassis made for vehicle collisions.
