The 1997 Mazda RX-7 FD[1] (also known as the Mazda RX-7 VeilSide Fortune[3]) is a major car driven by Han Seoul-Oh and Sean Boswell in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

History

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift

The 1997 Mazda RX-7 was one of Han Seoul-Oh's primary cars when traveling throughout Tokyo. Following Sean Boswell first failed drift race against the Drift King, Takashi, Han used the RX-7 to recruit Sean into his business with Takashi, who was indebted to him after destroying his 2001 Nissan Silvia S-15 Spec-S.[4] Sean also borrows the vehicle while going out with Han, using its nitrous system to race a Nissan Skyline as well as nearly getting caught by the Japanese Police. Han also uses it to do donuts on a girl's Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 and using it to practice drifting with Sean together after he obtains a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.

When Takashi confronted Han about the cash he stole from his uncle, Kamata, Han used the RX-7 to flee Takashi and his friend, Morimoto. Takashi and Morimoto pursued Han through the Shibuya District. Han keeps ahead of Sean, Takashi and Morimoto for most of the chase, but slowed down to stop Takashi from ramming Sean's Mitsubishi.[4]

Takashi managed to drive backwards in front of Han and fires on his windshield. Han bumped Takashi out of the way and prepared to drive away when someone in a Mercedes Benz T-boned him. The car landed on its roof and exploded soon after, seemingly killing Han.[2]
