The 1991 Dodge Stealth[3][4][5] is a minor car driven by Brian O'Conner in the 2 Fast 2 Furious prequel, Turbo-Charged Prelude.

History

Turbo-Charged Prelude

When Brian O'Conner leaves Los Angeles following the escape of Dominic Toretto[6], he drives out of the state in a 1991 Dodge Stealth.

On the run from the LAPD and the FBI, Brian uses the Dodge to travel across the country. He wins several races in Phoenix, Arizona and Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Dodge.

After stopping at a hotel, Brian's Dodge is identified by the police and he is forced to leave it behind. After receiving a ride from a stranger, he is dropped off at a used car dealership where he buys a 1999 Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 with the money he won from with the Dodge.

Trivia

  • During production of Turbo-Charge Prelude, the original intent of the producers was to use the Mitsubishi GTO's 3000GT model. They instead opted to for the 1991 Dodge Stealth import sold to Chrysler.[5]
  • Originally, Brian was to drive the 3000GT in the first movie. However, it was rejected because the cars that showed up to the film's casting call failed to impress the producers.[7][8][9]
  • In one scene, one of the racers, Danny Yamato, is shown driving a grey Mitsubishi 3000GT in the Gran Turismo video game, hooked on on his Honda Civic.
