Fast X (also known internationally as Fast & Furious 10) is the tenth film of the Fast & Furious series, and the eleventh overall. The film was directed by Louis Leterrier, who replaced original director Justin Lin, and was released on May 19th, 2023.

Official Description

The end of the road begins.

Fast X, the tenth film in the Saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises, now in its third decade and still going strong with the same core cast and characters as when it began.

Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

In 2011’s Fast Five, Dom and his crew took out nefarious Brazilian drug kingpin Hernan Reyes and decapitated his empire on a bridge in Rio De Janeiro. What they didn’t know was that Reyes’ son, Dante (Aquaman's Jason Momoa), witnessed it all and has spent the last 12 years masterminding a plan to make Dom pay the ultimate price.

Dante’s plot will scatter Dom’s family from Los Angeles to the catacombs of Rome, from Brazil to London and from Portugal to Antarctica. New allies will be forged and old enemies will resurface. But everything changes when Dom discovers that his own 8-year-old son (Leo Abelo Perry, Black-ish) is the ultimate target of Dante’s vengeance.

Directed by Louis Leterrier (Clash of the Titans, The Incredible Hulk), Fast X stars returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena and Scott Eastwood, with Oscar® winner Helen Mirren and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron.

The film also features an extraordinary new cast including Oscar® winner Brie Larson as Tess, a rogue representative from the Agency; Alan Ritchson (Reacher) as Aimes, the new head of the Agency who doesn’t hold the same fondness for Dom’s crew as his predecessor, Mr. Nobody; Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) as a Brazilian street racer with a powerful tie to Dom’s past; and legendary Oscar® winner Rita Moreno as Dom and Mia’s Abuelita Toretto.

Fast X is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, Justin Lin, Jeff Kirschenbaum and Samantha Vincent. The executive producers are Joseph M. Caracciolo, Jr., David Cain, Chris Morgan, Amanda Lewis and Mark Bomback.

Plot

F10 0042

In 2011, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) stole a vault containing the life savings of corrupt Brazilian businessman, Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida) from a police station in Rio de Janeiro. As they fled with the vault, Reyes and his son Dante (Jason Momoa) pursue the pair in turetted SUVs. As they chased Dom onto a bridge, he used the vault to knock Dante's car into the water where he was legally dead for two minutes. In the process his father was killed. 10 years later, Dom is giving his son Brian Marcos (Leo Abelo Perry) a driving lesson in his 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. They return home and celebrate with a barbecue that is attended by Abuelita Toretto (Rita Moreno) and Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) is requested by the Agency to steal a supercomputer chip from a convoy in Rome. Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel), Tej Parker (Ludacris) and Han Seoul-Oh (Sung Kang) join Roman on the mission as Dom and Letty stay behind with Little B.

F10 0127

That night, they are visited by Cipher (Charlize Theron) who is wounded after Dante came to her with the offer of a partnership. When Dante realised they had different interests, he turned Cipher's team against her by revealing he had members of their family held hostage. Cipher's team attacked her and Cipher was able to fight back, evade them and escape so she could warn Dom and Letty of the incoming war. Dom and Letty call Little Nobody (Scott Eastwood) who arrests Cipher and verifies his story, however he reveals that the Agency has no job going in Rome and Dom and Letty realise that it was a trap setup by Dante.

F10 0322

In Rome, Dante locks the team inside a truck transporting a large bomb ball and begins setting off multiple explosions which are blamed on the team. As Ramsey, Roman, Tej and Han flee underground, Letty is arrested after attempting to pursue Dante and Dom is able to push the bomb into the Tiber River to mitigate the effects, yet still causing a fair amount of damage to Rome. Agent Aimes (Alan Ritchson), the Agency's new leader following Mr. Nobody's disappearance, believes that Dom and his team are responsible for the bombing and begins a manhunt, attaching a multi-million dollar bounty. The team are declared terrorists and Letty is taken to a blacksite prison whilst Roman and the others flee to London. As Dom reflects on the damage his team has caused, he is visited by Magdalene Shaw (Helen Mirren) who comforts him. He asks her to deliver a message to Mr. Nobody, but she is unable to do so.

F10 0384

Back in Los Angeles, Little B and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) are ambushed by members of the Agency looking to apprehend them. Mia fights off the agents and is joined by Jakob Toretto (John Cena) who was called by Dom. He stops the Agents and reveals that Dom asked him to bring Little B to their rendezvous point in Portugal. Mia agrees and then leaves to be with Brian as she believes he is in danger now that they are being targeted by the Agency. In Naples, Dom meets Tess (Brie Larson), daughter of Mr. Nobody, who reveals that Dante is in Rio. She then warns him that Aimes is coming after him with everything. He requests Tess' help freeing Letty from prison and she discovers that Letty is being held in a blacksite prison in Antarctica where she visits her and stabs her so she can be transported to a medical facility where Ciphern is being kept. A scuffle ensures between Letty and Cipher and the two agree to work together to escape.

F10 0721

In London, Tej, Ramsey, Roman and Han discover their bank accounts have been drained by Dante and meet with Bowie (Pete Davidson) an old associate of Ramsey's who tries turning them in for the bounty. Han then suggests getting help from Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) and when Han arrives on his doorstep, Shaw believes that Han is coming for revenge and the two fight. After they are infiltrated by the Agency, Shaw and Han make amends and then Shaw leaves the group to go find Magdalene who is being tracked by Dante. In Rio, Dom meets Dante for the first time and Dante challenges him to a street race in which an old associate of Dom's, Diogo (Luis Da Silva Jr.), is killed in an explosion triggered by Dante.

F10 0536

Dom is able to stop Dante from also killing Isabel Neves (Daniela Melchior), the sister of Elena Neves, from the same fate and she returns the favor by giving Dom Elena's old files on Dante. Dom discovers that Dante still owns the police station where the vault was stolen from and he goes there to find more information. Along the way he is pursued by Aimes who is stopped by the locals.

F10 0791

Dom arrives at the police station and finds Dante's vision board and discovers that he is tracking all of them as well as old associates of them including: Sean Boswell (Lucas Black), Monica Fuentes (Eva Mendes), Suki (Devon Aoki), Elle (Anna Sawai) and Magdalene. He is apprehended by Aimes and along the drive they are ambushed by Dante who shoots Aimes and Tess and steals God's Eye. Isabel takes Tess to the hospital and Dom and Aimes team up to stop Dante who is going to Portugal where he plans to kidnap Little B.

F10 0982

In Portugal, Jakob and Little B are fleeing from Dante and his crew in a modified canon car and Dom arrives with Aimes on a plane and lands his car onto the highway to join them. Dante kidnaps Little B from Jakob's car however Dom is able to help him escape. When Dante's crew begin overpowering them, Jakob sacrifices himself in an explosion to allow Dom and Little B to escape. When instructed by Aimes, Dom takes a service road to an airstrip but is trapped by Dante once more. Here, it is revealed that Aimes has been working with Dante since 2011 and as Roman, Tej, Ramsay and Han arrive on a plane, it is shot down by Aimes and crashes, leaving their fates unknown.

F10 1006

Dante boxes Dom and Little B between two drone-operated semi-trailers and prepares to crush them. Dom drives off the edge and down the slope of the dam, landing safely in the water, but Dante reveals the dam is rigged with explosives and sets them off, leaving their fates unknown.

F10 1025

In Antarctica, Letty and Cipher have escaped the prison and as they cross over a mountain they witness a submarine rise from below the ground and a woman emerges watching them through binoculars. The woman is revealed to be Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot) who is still alive after she was believed to have died in Fast & Furious 6.

F10 1041

In a post-credits scene, Dante calls Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) who is investigating an abandoned theatre, possibly owned by him. He warns Hobbs that as he was the one who killed his father, and not Dom who only crashed his car, he will be coming for him next. Hobbs tells him that he isn't hard to find and then crushes the phone.
